Co-creation of Knowledge to Think Other Futures
Perspectives of Social Movements of the Global South
(Dr. Aymara Llanque Zonta, Social-Ecological Systems Institute (SESI), Leuphana University Lüneburg)
What is valid knowledge? Who benefits from the knowledge produced in the Global North on the Global South?
Aymara Llanque Zonta will take a look at transdisciplinary research experiences between the Global North/South, to analyze the opportunities and limitations of these forms of co-creation of knowledge, especially when science has transformative objectives. She, then, will show some of the colonial continuities in the production of knowledge and how the social movements of the Global South are facing these problems.
How to decolonize sustainability science?
Reflecting on a science connected to politics and practice Zonta will finally ask how sufficient participative ways of transformative transdisciplinary science (i.e. multi-stakeholder participation) are to decolonize sustainability science.
These and further questions Aymara Llanque Zonta will explore in her lecture on Wed, 24 May 2023, 16h15 – 17h45 (Main Building, Edmund-Siemers-Allee 1, Lecture Hall J/ Hauptgebäude, Hörsaal J).
The lecture, to which all who are interested are invited, is part of the interdisciplinary lecture series „Wie weiter? Epistemische Krisen als Herausforderung für Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft“.
